About Daylily Sun

“In this world constantly focused on image, results, and success, I will encourage Gardening for Joy.”

–Mission statement

Welcome!

My name is Genevieve and I’m so glad you’re here.  I have been gardening for over twenty years, in different soils and climates, and I have learned a quite few things about designing and creating exactly the type of garden I want.

I believe that gardens are for everybody, and I started Daylily Sun to help you believe in your ability to make your gardening dreams come true, regardless of your previous experience.  You do not need formal training or a so-called “green thumb”—all you need is the desire to create and the willingness to work and to learn.

Daylily Sun’s motto is “Gardening for Joy” and it’s my hope that you too will experience the unique joy that comes from creating, building, and tending a garden.

Enjoy the journey, friend.

~Genevieve

P.S.  Every part of this website is designed, built, and written by me (this is a no AI zone!), which means that this site (like a garden) will be growing in stages.  I appreciate your patience as we grow. 😊

For technical issues (or glaring typos), please send me an email at daylilysunwebsite @ gmail.com (remove the spaces) and let me know.  Thank you!

Most of photos on this website were taken by me, either in my garden, a botanical garden, nursery, or park.   The remainder of images are either product images (with links) or from royalty-free websites.  I plan to eventually have 100% of photos be taken by me.

“Persian Market” daylily and “Ever Amethyst” agapanthus in my garden- a combination I particularly love.
